Site Objective: The objective of this site was to provide CareerBuilder with a microsite that gave Americans looking to move and work in Hong Kong a way to find out key information about careers and living in that country. The site needed to be designed and themed to their brand, as well as give administrators an easy way to add and update articles on the site.

Site Specifications: The site was set up with a customized theme to reflect the CareerBuilder brand. Three template pages where built, the home page, the main article category page, and the specific article page. The blog tool in WordPress was used as a dynamic lead-in to the articles. Blog posts were categorized and allowed specific lead-ins to be shown on the respective category page.

Development Specifications: Development consisted of building the three themed pages, as well as custom queries, PHP programming, and JavaScript using JQuery for the blog tool to display posts by category in a scrollable module. The category pages also used custom JavaScript and database queries to display the pages within the category in a show/hide +/- configuration.

TypePad Development

BTB Fitness

Site Objective: BTB Fitness is a boot camp style fitness company. They also provide CrossFit workouts in their gym. They needed to integrate a blog with their current site design to post updates and daily CrossFit workouts. Since the blog was not an original requirement of the site it was added on after the original site was completed. It was also a requirement of the client to use TypePad as the blog engine.

Site Specifications: The blog needed to take the look and feel of the current site but still retain the functionality and dynamic capabilities of a TypePad blog.

Development Specifications: Development consisted of building the theme for TypePad, and integrating new functionality into the theme. Domain mapping was also required, and the original site restructured to link to the correct categories for blog posts.

Hugs For Hackers

Site Objective: HugsForHackers.org was a viral site that AVG developed to be a compliment to their ad campaign that was running in tech magazines such as PC World and Wired. The site was very flash heavy, and a blog was required to give the characters more of an individual voice.

General Development

CrunkEnergyDrink.com

Site Objective: CRUNK!!! Energy Drink wanted a site that spoke to their brand and helped to get the word out about what CRUNK!!! was about and where you could get it. The site is very graphics and flash heavy and needed to provide visitors with information about what CRUNK!!! was made of, who drinks it, where you could find it, and what the brand believed in.

Site Specifications: To give users a way to find CRUNK!!! Google Maps was integrated with a MySql database of all the locations that sold CRUNK!!! energy drink. Users could enter their zip code and locations close to them would display on the map.

To develop CRUNK!!!s position as a supporter of music and sports a MySql database was built to house musician and athletes, information about them such as a bio, location, and links and categorized to group them with similar athletes or musicians. The database also housed a rating system so that users could rate artists and athletes.

CRUNK!!! also developed an application to build their “CRUNK!!! Army”. Called CRUNK!!! House, the site was set up to give users a way to join with CRUNK!!! and get points for doing things to promote the energy drink. Users could log on and see a list of promotional activities such as hanging a banner at a house party, or wearing CRUNK!!! gear at events. When a user completed an activity they submitted their Happening and uploaded photos and video. Administrators then reviewed the submissions and awarded points. The points could then be redeemed for CRUNK!!! schwag such as backpacks, hats, mp3 players, etc.

The CRUNK!!! House system was built on MySql and PHP. The database housed user profile information, submitted Happenings information, rewards, and activities that could earn points. The application tied all of this data together and gave users and administrators a way to view point totals, redeemed points, Happenings that needed to be approved, update user and activity information, and general management of accounts.

Development Specifications: Development for the CRUNK!!! site was very spread out due to shifting strategy and branding. Database development and integration for the main site took approximately 45 hours.

GetOutdoorsGeorgia.org

Site Objective: GetOutdoorsGeorgia.org was a Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites initiative to get people more involved in the state parks. It was designed to be sister site to the main State Parks site that gave users a way to get involved in the state parks system from an activities point of view. For example if you wanted to go fishing, in the current site you would need to know the park to go to, but in the new site you would be provided a list of parks that had that activity.

A strategic partner of the initiative was Google, so integration of Google Maps and Widgets was required.

Site Specifications: The site was built using classic ASP and Oracle as the database. A database was developed to house information about all of the 63 state parks and historic sites, activities at those parks, groups and programs at each site, as well as events.

The Google Maps API was used to locate parks, get directions from your location to the park, and display activities, groups and programs locations.
